Stroom Den Haag and Haagse Broedplaatsen are looking for a “broedplaatsmakelaar” (creative workspace broker) to take on a central role as initiator and organizer within the newly established Buro Broedplaats. The position runs from May 2026 through April 2030 (with annual extensions) and is a freelance role for an average of 18 hours per week. The broker will work closely with a to-be-appointed communications staff member and report to both organizations. In this role, the focus is on strengthening The Hague’s creative infrastructure.
The new role stems from the municipal creative workspace policy for 2025–2030, which aims to expand access to space for artists and makers across the city. From within Buro Broedplaats, the broker acts as a key connector between creatives, policymakers, and real estate stakeholders. The position is explicitly not about management, but about development: identifying opportunities, initiating collaborations, and realizing sustainable workspaces and cultural hotspots. In doing so, the broker becomes a key figure in urban development, where policy and practice converge in concrete spaces for the creative sector.
Submissions are open until 5th of May 2026. More information about the vacancy can be found on the Stroom Den Haag website: https://www.stroom.nl/en/stroom/news/vacature-stroom-en-haagse-broedplaatsen-zoeken-een-broedplaatsmakelaar
